Kyla is a Registered Social Worker with over a decade of experience in healthcare administration and advocacy, as well as lived experience raising a family with diverse needs. She brings a compassionate, real-world perspective into her work and is passionate about supporting individuals and couples through life’s challenges in a way that feels meaningful, practical, and personalized.

Kyla describes herself as an eclectic practitioner, recognizing that no two people or relationships are the same. She does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach and instead tailors her work to each client’s unique experiences, goals, and strengths. Her practice is grounded in evidence-based therapies, systems theory, and a collaborative, client-centered approach. She values openness and encourages clients to stay engaged in their therapeutic journey.

Kyla works with individuals and couples navigating a wide range of concerns, including life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, stress, and personal growth. She also supports clients experiencing chronic health concerns and new diagnoses, including those navigating bariatric journeys and weight-related experiences, offering a compassionate and non-judgmental space rooted in both professional knowledge and lived experience.

In addition, Kyla has experience supporting individuals and families living with neurodiversity, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She takes a neurodiversity-affirming approach and is mindful of individuals who may not present in traditional ways, including those who are high-masking or navigating complex identity and behavioural profiles.

Kyla incorporates a trauma-informed lens into all aspects of her work, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. Whether working with individuals or couples, her goal is to help clients build insight, strengthen relationships, and develop tools that support lasting, positive change.

Kyla has a particular passion for supporting individuals navigating chronic health conditions and new diagnoses. She holds a strong interest in bariatric and obesity care, approaching this work through both professional knowledge and lived experience. As someone who has lived in a larger body, she is a dedicated advocate for the recognition of obesity as a chronic disease and provides a compassionate, non-judgmental space for clients navigating these experiences. She is actively involved in the bariatric community, attends the Obesity Canada Summit annually, and is part of a clinical bariatric research team with Vancouver Coastal Health. She is currently working toward her Certified Bariatric Educator designation.

Outside of her work, Kyla enjoys spending time outdoors with her children and dog, exploring the Okanagan, and unwinding with a good book and a strong cup of coffee.

Starting counselling can feel like a big step — especially if you’ve been carrying things for a long time, or you’re not sure how to put what you’re feeling into words. Kayli offers a calm, supportive, and welcoming space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin making sense of what’s happening in your life.

Kayli is a compassionate counsellor who brings strong professional training and real-world experience into her work. She is committed to helping clients feel safe, understood, and supported — while also gently challenging patterns that may be keeping them stuck. Her goal is not just to help clients “get through” difficult moments, but to help them build tools, insight, and confidence that lasts.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship struggles, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, Kayli believes you don’t have to carry it alone. Kayli believes counselling is a collaborative and deeply human process. At the heart of her work is a strong therapeutic relationship — one where clients feel respected, supported, and free to be honest without fear of judgment.

Her style blends evidence-based strategies with warmth, empathy, and curiosity. She works alongside clients to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, identify meaningful goals, and take practical steps toward change.

Clients often describe this kind of counselling as both supportive and empowering — a place where they can feel safe while also doing the deeper work that creates real growth.

Kayli supports: - Adults - Young adults - Teens - Individuals - Couples

Kayli can support clients with a wide range of mental health and life concerns, including: - Anxiety and chronic worry - Stress and overwhelm - Depression and low mood - Burnout and emotional exhaustion - Grief and loss - Trauma and difficult life experiences - Life transitions (separation, career changes, retiring moving, identity shifts) - Self-esteem and confidence - Emotional regulation and coping skills - Relationship challenges - Communication and conflict - Attachment wounds and relationship patterns - Boundary setting and people-pleasing - Family stress and interpersonal dynamics - Crisis support and suicide risk assessment (non-emergency support) - Feeling “stuck,” lost, or unsure of next steps

Working with Kayli is not about being “fixed.” It’s about being supported, understood, and equipped. In sessions, you can expect:

  • A calm, non-judgmental environment
  • Space to talk openly and process what’s been building up
  • Tools and strategies you can actually use outside of session
  • Support in building insight, confidence, and emotional resilience
  • A counsellor who will meet you where you’re at — and walk beside you as things improve

Outside of the counselling room, Kayli is creative at heart. She enjoys painting, drawing, crocheting, and sewing — and values the way creativity and self-expression can support emotional well-being.

She also loves spending time in nature and sharing meaningful moments with friends and family. These personal values often show up in her work — in the way she prioritizes connection, resilience, and the importance of feeling supported through life’s challenges.

If you’ve been considering counselling, Kayli would be honoured to support you. Reaching out is a courageous first step — and you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.
